Rhine Valley, Germany

We just loved the Rhine Valley, Germany it really is an impressive place, so neat and tidy and lets not forget how peaceful it was. The Rhine Valley is very steep with a river winding through the middle. There are high and long over passes on top of the mountains, we were constantly driving straight until we had to get to the bottom of the valley (I held my breath a few times heading down into the Valley as the roads were narrow and WINDY). Vineyards sat high on the sides of the mountains which can be pretty risky business to the point people have lost their lives. We saw a DVD on how they maintain the vineyards and man are they crazy but I will say they do create beautiful wine, we purchased a lovely Riesling and it was DELICIOUS!!! On the river cruise down the Rhine Valley River we saw many castles and little villages. We also visited the largest Cuckoo Clock in the world....(I know BORING, but it was still cool to see). We very much want to go back and explore more of Germany......be great to visit when OKTOBERFEST is on, I hear this is great, I better get started on that little holiday savings account :-).
